Black cardamom is a special spice known for its strong & distinct smokey aroma. Black cardamom is bigger in size and is as well different from green cardamom, both in aroma as well as in usage. Black cardamom is a constituent of garam masala and used extensively for preparing dal, soups, hearty meats, tandoors and vegetable dishes, as well as in sweets like rice pudding, tea and even coffee. China and Vietnam also use black cardamom as a key ingredient in jin-jin meat and ph? broth respectively. Black cardamom has been used to treat various stomach ailments, common infections, and dental problems. In traditional Chinese medicine, in addition to being a treatment for stomach disorders, this spice is used to treat malaria. It is also chewed as a mouth freshener.
